Some more lettering fun this weekend!
This is a project that I worked on about a year ago. I think that the end concept turned out good; however, I enjoy how the initial concept sketch turned out that was debunked by the client (which is why it is only a pencil sketch). Such is the life of the graphic designer though - we are here to fulfill the needs of the client. This particular concept didn't fit their need, but I like it and thought it would be fun to share.
As much as I love designing websites and other digital designs, I also love picking up a pencil and sketchbook and just letting type flow. Ever since I was young, I remember practicing cool ways to draw my name, and while I would watch movies I would play with drawing letters and words. I never thought that my doodling would amount to anything, until I discovered many years ago that "hand lettering" was something that actually existed! Here are some recent sketches of some lettering from my latest sketchbook. I plan to vectorize them at some point.
Hello there! I'm Stephanie Brocious, it's nice to meet you! I'm an illustrator, graphic designer, with a love of lettering, painting/drawing, and bit of photography. I try to do something creative everyday! Here is something that I did awhile back that I really love. A collage "R". Sometimes it is essential to get away from the computer and hone your craftsmanship skills.
